Working Ways to Fix “You Don’t Have Permission to Access this Server” Error

Step 1 – On your browser, click the lock icon in the URL bar to view site information.

Step 2 – In the opened options, click on Site Settings to navigate to the options related to the particular URL.

Step 3 – When the Site settings open, you can find the clear data option under the Usage category. Click on the same, and you’re good to go.

Fix 2 – Delete Browser Cookies & Cache

In case removing the site cookies does not work, there are chances that the browser is using corrupt browsing data. The ideal way to deal with it is to clear all browser cookies and cache.

Step 1 – Click on the three dots option in the top right corner of your browser window to open a quick access menu.
Step 2 – Click on settings from the menu to open Browser Settings.

Fix 3 – Remove Proxy Server From LAN If Using

If you have established a proxy server to connect, try disabling it. Proxy servers come in handy when you want to secure your connection on a server away from your region. However, poor configuration of the same can cause issues such as not having access to this server.

Step 1 – Go to the Start Menu and search for Internet Options.

Step 2 – Click the Connections tab to find LAN Settings in the Internet Options. Click on the same.

Step 3 – In the LAN settings, uncheck the Use a Proxy Server option to remove the proxy.

Step 4 – Click OK to save the changes and try reloading the website to see if the issue is resolved.

Fix 4 – Avoid Using a Free VPN Client

If you use a free VPN to protect your connection and use servers from different regions, you may encounter server issues. These are common as free VPN servers are not up to the mark and are always congested. The best practice to eliminate issues like you do not have permission to access this server easily is to disconnect the VPN and try reaccessing the server.

In case it is a foreign server you want to access, we recommend you go for a premium VPN service. The only reason to recommend a paid VPN is that it assures you have quality servers.

If you are wondering which VPN to choose, you can easily use Systweak VPN. It has hundreds of stable servers that offer high-speed browsing capabilities and keep you away from issues like website congestion and ISP throttling. It is pretty straightforward to use –

Step 1 – Download the Systweak VPN Client and install it on your computer.

Step 2 – Sign Up or Sign In using your credentials.

Step 3 – Choose a server and click on it to connect. You can also use the connect button if you are OK with any server.

Fix 5 – Reset Browser to Factory Settings

If you have been facing issues such as “You don’t have permission to access this server” only recently, chances are that recent changes you have made to the browser settings have caused a problem.

Now, if you can track the issue back to an extension you installed or a change you made, reverse it immediately. However, if it has been a while, you cannot reset the browser.

Step 1 – Click on the three dots option in the top right corner of your browser window to open a quick access menu.
Step 2 – Click on settings from the menu to open Browser Settings.

Step 3 – In the browser settings, you can find an option that says Reset Settings.

Step 4 – Open the Reset Settings. The only option there is to Reset the browser to factory settings. Click on the same to find a pop-up.

Step 5 – Click on Reset Settings, and the browser reset is finished.

If you have tried all the fixes and the issue persists, you can contact the webmaster to check if the website is under maintenance or facing an issue at the server end. In such situations, you can hardly do anything other than wait.
