What Is The VAN9003 Error

This error acts as a digital security guard in Valorant, implemented by Riot Games to ensure a fair and secure gaming experience. It utilizes additional security measures, such as Secure Boot and TPM (Trusted Platform Module), to verify that the game is played in a safe and controlled environment. This error tells you, “Secure Boot isn’t working properly on your PC.” Secure Boot and TPM function like guardians, ensuring your computer starts up safely. Vanguard, Valorant’s security system, relies on these to verify that your system is trustworthy.

Why Does The VAN9003 Error Occur

The error typically occurs when there’s an issue with the game’s anti-cheat system, Vanguard. This error is usually tied to problems such as corrupted files, conflicts with antivirus programs, or system network settings issues. If Secure Boot or TPM is turned off, Valorant won’t launch, and you’ll encounter the VAN9003 error. These security features need to be enabled for the game to run correctly.

If not, you first try fixing it by power-booting your router/modem. It is done by powering off your router for one minute and then turning it back on. If this does not fix the issue, then your network drivers might be affected. Here are 3 different ways to update drivers.

Use The Manufacturer’s Website

You can update the network drivers by downloading the relevant drivers from the OEM website. However, this process can be too technical for some and if that is the case, move to the next method.

Use The Device Manager

The Device Manager is an inbuilt tool that can help download updates for your driver. But the only limitation is that this tool can search for driver updates on the Microsoft Servers only. It does not consider updated drivers from third-party sources which means that you many not get the updated drivers soon.

Use Advanced Driver Updater

This excellent driver updater tool can scan your PC for driver anomalies like outdated drivers, missing drivers, and corrupted drivers. It then searches for the relevant and most compatible drivers and installs them on your PC. Here are the steps to use this software.

Step 1: Download and install Advanced Driver Updater from the official website or click the download link below.

Step 2: Once installed, launch the software and click the Start Scan Now button on the app’s home screen.

Step 3: Wait for the scan to complete, and a list of driver anomalies will appear on the screen.

Step 4: Locate Synaptics Touchpad Driver among the list and click on the update link next to it.

Step 5: The update process will now begin. Wait for the driver to be updated completely and reboot your PC.

Method 10. Contact Riot Support

If the error persists after trying all the solutions above, contact Riot Games Support for more assistance. Provide them with the error details and troubleshooting steps you’ve already tried.
