Do you fear your screen going blank out of nowhere? Sometimes, the monitor stops supporting your current display configuration and goes blank. Usually, the error message says the monitor display does not support the current input timing. The monitor cannot sync with the PC’s default display configuration.
This means that there are either compatibility issues between the system and the driver or your GPU has encountered an error with the display adapter. In both cases, you may not be able to use your PC. So what do you do? Well, that is what this post is about. In this blog, we will help you find the best solution so the monitor display error on your PC does not suppress the current input timing.
So keep reading, as you can use your PC with the same monitor that showed the error by the end! Let’s begin.
Multiple factors come into play when you come across an error. Some of the core reasons that you face the current input timing is not supported by the monitor display error are as follows –
Now, the first thing you should do is check the connections between your PC and the monitor. Sometimes, the cables are not properly connected, and the display stops working properly. Eventually, the error takes over, and you have no options left. Try replacing the cables, as that may help too.
After ensuring that the connections are OK and there are no hardware issues with the ports, cables, and the monitor itself, you should move on to the following fixes.
Whenever the error appears, it shows the current input timing that your PC is using and what it should be by default. The input timing usually refers to your monitor’s resolution and refresh rate. If they are not compatible, you can change and manage them accordingly.
Here’s how you do it –
Step 1 – Go to the Desktop and right-click to open the context menu.
Step 2 – Click on Display Settings to find all the options.
Step 3 – In the Scale and Layout section, ensure that the zoom and display resolution are set to the recommended settings.
Step 4 – If the error shows a certain different value, you should use the dropdown menu in the resolution setting and choose the value accordingly.
Step 5 – After changing the resolution settings, you should move towards changing the refresh rate.
Step 6 – Click on the Scale option to open settings related to your screen.
Step 7 – From the opened menu, click on Advanced Display to find more options.
Step 8 – Click on Choose a refresh rate and select the 60Hz option, which is the supported solution.
Save the settings and check if the monitor issue appears again. You should be able to sort the error from your end.
If the settings are all fine and you still face issues related to display input timing, chances are that the drivers are incompatible. The best way to handle the issue is to update the drivers on your PC. The display adapter drivers are a necessity when it comes to handling the visual requirements of a PC.
To update these drivers, we recommend you use the Advanced Driver Updater. The application is designed to handle your existing drivers and identify outdated drivers. The tool scans your PC for outdated drivers, finds the updates, and installs them on your PC.
Here’s how it works –
Step 1 – Download and install the application on your PC.
Step 2 – Run a scan to find out about existing outdated drivers.
Step 3 – Click on Update All to finish updating the drivers.
This way, all your existing drivers, including the display drivers, will be updated, and you can finish the process easily. After the update, restart your PC for changes to take full effect.
After you have made the above changes, your display issues should be resolved. Needless to say, the monitor display does not support the current input timing, which is a basic error that may appear on any PC. If these fixes do not help, you should check your monitor for hardware issues, as software configuration is not helping you.
With that being said, we have reached the end of this post. Hope you find this post helpful. Thanks for reading. Good luck!
