Working Ways to Record & Export MuseScore Video

MuseCore is a blessing in disguise for all the music lovers. It helps budding composers and artists create music by learning about the same in detail. As a music notation software, to develop a score better than the ordinary, it allows access to multiple instruments. Furthermore, it caters to a wide range of users as the tool is available on all major platforms, such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.

While the software does fulfill the requirements related to music composition and notation, several users have highlighted a specific limitation that bothers them. The software cannot save the notation video directly.

If you are also looking for a way to record and export MuseCore notation videos for offline usage, this post is for you! Here, we explain working ways that you can use to get your hands on the masterpiece you have created.

Let’s begin!

How to Record MuseScore Video?

Who does not want to showcase their skills? Especially when it comes to performing arts like music. Every user wants to share the creation for feedback and validation. While MuseScore allows users to get hands-on experience with the musical instruments virtually, it has no internal method to save and export the created score.

Then how do you save the video of the notation? Well, we have curated a few ways you can try to record, save, and export MuseScore video on your Windows PC. Check it out below!

Method 1 – Record the Created Score Using a Screen Recorder Tool

When you have no option to download or save the video, recording it is the best and the easiest way. There are several screen recorders available in the market that can be used to finish the task. However, not every tool can do it exactly how you want it.

To capture a MuseCore video that is not only saved but also share-worthy, you need a tool that minimizes the after-recording process and does it all. We recommend you go for Advanced Screen Recorder, a tool designed to help you record the desktop screen and create content like a pro.

Here’s how it works –

Step 1 – Download the tool from the link below and install it on your computer.

Step 2 – Go to the MuseScore software and open the score you want to record. In case you want to record the notation process, open an empty project to begin with.

Step 3 – Launch the Advanced Screen Recorder and click the Record button.

Step 4 – You will now get a window to set your audio, video, and microphone preferences. Since you want to record the score you have created on PC, keep the respective device as your primary source.

Step 5 – Click on Start Recording and minimize the tool. Now open your score and start playing it/creating it (depending on your preference).

Once the steps are complete, bring up the recorder interface and click on stop recording. You can also use shortcuts on your keyboard to start and stop recording.

The best is that the tool allows you to trim the video to remove any unwanted clips. Also, it can record a dedicated region on the screen, keeping the video focused on how you created a score.

Method 2 – Use the Send to YouTube Option on MuseScore

If you feel recording the screen might take extra time, use the share to YouTube option on the software. It will share the video on the platform to put forward for a large audience to watch and interact.

Here’s how you can use this option –

Step 1 – Open MuseScore on your computer and click on the Send to YouTube option available near the three-dot options button.

Step 2 – When the interface opens up, use the upload audio track to create a custom notation for the music you want to share. If you do not have different sounds or music to share, the MuseScore, by default, will play the sound of MuseScore using the synthesizers.

Step 3 – After completing both steps, post the video following the steps shown on YouTube.

If you want to export your MuseScore video just to share it with someone specific, this might not be the appropriate option. Not to mention, you can only do this once a day with a free MuseScore account.

Besides these, you are hardly left with any option, considering no direct saving is available on the tool. Of the two methods shared, the Advanced Screen Recorder is the ultimate choice as it offers more flexibility and even more functionality.

Download the Advanced Screen Recorder today and easily record your MuseScore Video on Windows! Good luck.
