Netflix VPN not Working – How to Bypass Netflix VPN Block

Netflix is a worldwide popular streaming service. However, as the platform doesn’t have the right to distribute all content in every region, it imposes regional restrictions. Due to this, users are prevented from accessing all the uploaded content.

Fortunately, using a Virtual Private Network (VPN), you can mask your IP address and stream your desired Netflix library from anywhere in the world. But if Netflix detects it, you can no longer access the content. Instead, you get the ‘pardon the interruption’ proxy error.

So, what can be done in such a situation? Is there a way to beat the Netflix VPN and bypass Netflix blocking VPN? Or can we stop Netflix from blocking VPNs?

This post will try to answer these critical questions and help learn which VPN server unblocks Netflix.

Can You Bypass the Netflix VPN Block?

There is not a clear-cut answer to this question. It is both a Yes & a No.

No, because it is a ban implied from Netflix’s end, & you can not bypass it technically. Using a banned server, you cannot access restricted content. However, you can beat the VPN block by implementing a few workarounds, like opting for a streaming-optimized VPN and using the following tips.

Tip : Sometimes, you may have to try more than one server.

Is Using VPN Ilegal? Use Your VPN Wisely

Using a VPN isn’t illegal but it is against services guidelines, including Netflix’s. Furthermore, cookies and cache are the most common source of knowing your location. Using it services including Netflix can quickly identify your true location. Therefore, use a streaming-optimized VPN.

2. Clear cookies & caches before logging into Netflix

Before connecting to the Netflix servers, make sure your prior location information is removed from your browser. Such information is usually stored in cache and cookies; thus, clearing them is the best thing you can do.

Here’s how to remove cookies and cache in Google Chrome –

  • Go to Google Chrome. Click on the three dots button at the top right corner of the screen
  • Click on More Tools > Clear browsing data. In the drop-down menu, click on All time.
  • Mark Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
  • Click Clear data.

Once you have cleared data, relaunch Chrome and navigate to Netflix using your VPN. This should do the trick for you if the error was with your location and not with your server.

3. Keep Switching VPN Servers, So it Does Not Get Flagged

While opting for a VPN service, make sure they offer a decent amount of servers so you can keep shuffling to avoid detection. This prevents Netflix from tracing your location precisely. Sometimes, when there are suspicious activities with VPN servers, they get blocked on priority.

Thus always keep changing your VPN server. The ideal streaming time is an hour or so. This means you have to keep disconnecting and reconnecting if you want to keep your servers from getting blocked.

4. Block IPv6 on your PC

Another important thing while using VPN for Netflix is to ensure you block IPv6 connectivity. The Netflix algorithm works on IPv6 connectivity and fetches libraries based on the same. A few VPN services have not yet opted for stable and secure IPv6 connectivity thus if there is a leak in the VPN tunnel, your true location is exposed and the server is banned!

To block the IPv6 connectivity, use the following steps –

  • Press Windows + R to open the Run Type Control command.
  • Hit enter to open the control panel.
  • In the Control Panel, Click on Network and internet.
  • In the Network and Sharing center, find the connection name and click on it.
  • Once you click on it, you’ll see a pop up for the connection details. There you’ll find a Properties button, click on it to open.
  • In the properties, you can scroll and unmark all the IPv6 connections.
  • Click OK to save the change, and then try connecting to Netflix using your VPN.
