Solution #1 – Close The App Using Task Manager

If you see a blank interface on the Get Help app, exit and relaunch the app. If this doesn’t help, go to Taskbar to End all related background processes and see if it helps. Follow these steps –

1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.
2. Click on the Processes tab in the left panel.
3. Look for all the processes named Get Help on the right side and right-click on them.
4. Choose End Task from the context menu.

This way, you can exit all processes related to the Get Help app. Now, re-launch the app to check if it works properly.

Solution #2 – Power Cycle Your Router/Modem

The Get Help app displays information from Microsoft servers regarding user issues. This means that for the app to work fine the internet connection should be stable. A slow or glitchy connection can stop Get Help from loading. To troubleshoot it power cycle the router/modem to clear the cache and network congestion (if any). Here is what you need to do.

1. Power off your router/modem.
2. Restart your computer.
3. Wait for 1 minute.
4. Power on your router/modem and connect to your network.

Solution #3 – Verify Background Component Permissions

A misconfigured setting can also affect the functioning of the Get Help app.  To set the permissions correctly, follow these steps. 

1. Press Win + X to launch the Power menu and choose Settings.
2. Click on the System tab in the left panel.
3. Scroll down on the right side and click on System Components.
4. Locate the Get Help app and click on the three dots next to the app.
5. Choose Advanced Options.

6. Look for the Background component permissions section and click on the dropdown.
7. Select the Always option and exit the Settings window.
8. Restart your PC and launch the Get Help app to check if it still appears blank.

Solution #4 – Repair/Reset The Get Help App

Users can repair and reset the apps installed on the Windows PC. Follow these steps to reset the Get Help app: 

1. Press Win + I to open the Settings window.
2. Click on the System tab in the left panel.
3. Scroll down on the right side and click on System Components.
4. Type “Get Help” in the top search box, and the app will be highlighted.


5. Click on the Three dots on the far right of the app and select Advanced Options.
6. Scroll down to the Reset section.
7. Click on the Repair button first and check if the issue is resolved.
8. If not, click on the Repair button and reboot your PC.

Launch the Get Help app to check if it appears blank again.

Solution #5 – Clear The Temporary Files On Your PC

The presence of accumulated junk and temp files can interfere with normal app functionality and Windows processes and services. 5. Restart your PC after the process is completed.

Solution #6 – Scan Your PC For Errors

To fix the Get Help issue, run a scan of system files and fix them. Since Get Help is a Microsoft app, it can be fixed by running these scans. Here are the steps to run DISM and SFC scans.

1. Press Win + R to open the RUN dialog box and type “cmd”.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + Enter to launch the Command Prompt in admin mode.
3. Next, copy and paste the following command in the Command Prompt window and press Enter.

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

4. After the scan, type the command below followed by Enter key.

sfc /scannow

5. Let the scan run and fix the corrupted files on your system. After the scan is over, reboot your PC.

Solution #7 Check for Windows Update

Sometimes, bugs in system apps like Get Help can cause the app to show a blank screen. To troubleshoot it, update Windows. 

1. Press Windows + I to access Settings.
2. Windows Update > Check for Updates > and install any available update. 

Solution #8 Run Microsoft Store App Troubleshooter

Windows provides a built-in troubleshooter to detect and fix common problems with app installation, permissions, and configurations. To fix issues with the Get Help app, run it and see if it helps. 

1. In the Windows search bar, type Fix Windows Store.
2. This will open the Microsoft Store Apps troubleshooter. Click Next to proceed, and wait for it to detect and fix problems.
3. If any issues are detected, they will be automatically fixed, and you will be notified. Now, try running the app. 

Solution #9 Reinstall the Get Help App

Sometimes, a complete uninstallation and reinstallation is required to fix the issue. To reinstall the app and fix the issue, follow these steps: 

1. Press Windows + I and open Settings.
