How to Download and Update Microsoft Bluetooth Driver

Microsoft Bluetooth driver comes integrated with every device that supports Bluetooth. These are the default drivers included in the core files after the installation of Windows. These require regular updates to work properly. However, it is not always easy to download and update the Microsoft Bluetooth Driver.

Bluetooth technology has become a part of our daily lives. The seamless integration of devices offered based on Bluetooth technology is the reason behind the wireless revolution our generation has witnessed. The devices we use have dedicated drivers that support their functioning. The same is the case with Microsoft Bluetooth Driver.

If you are facing issues with your Bluetooth devices, you are facing driver issues. In this blog, let us look at how you can keep these drivers updated and make the most of your integrated Bluetooth.

Microsoft Bluetooth Driver Not Working Properly- How To Fix It

1. Check for Latest Updates

The Windows updates are annoying, aren’t they? Especially when they take hours to install while booting up or shutting down. Most users often keep their Windows updates limited to major updates and avoid regular ones. This often causes the Microsoft Bluetooth Driver to malfunction.

How does it matter? Well, since the drivers come straight from the manufacturer Microsoft, the updates for the drivers are often rolled out as a minor update for Windows. If you have, due any reason, turned off the auto-update feature, you should go to the update settings on your PC and look for the latest updates.

To check for updates on your Windows 11 PC, follow these steps –

  • Open Start Menu by clicking on the Windows button in the taskbar.
  • In the search bar, type update settings. You will find internal shortcuts to Windows Updates Settings. Click on it to open.

  • After opening the Windows Update Settings dialog, you will find the button “Check for Update” Click on it and let the PC fetch updated information. Make sure your PC is connected to the internet.

  • If there are updates available, click on Download and install. This will update your PC. Depending on your internet connection and update size, it might take time.
  • Finish the update, restart your PC, and check whether the issue with Bluetooth is resolved or not.

Usually, updating your Windows resolves the issues with the integrated components of Microsoft, which should resolve your Bluetooth issues in a go.

2. Directly look for Driver Updates in the Device Manager

If you have tried updating the PC and there were no updates available, maybe the error requires you to install the latest drivers yourself. This can be done by understanding precisely what hardware your PC uses to integrate Bluetooth into the system.

Device manager on Windows 11 is a great way to handle such issues. It has a list of all the attached devices and their properties that you can easily access. To use the device manager to update the Microsoft Bluetooth driver, follow these steps –

  • Press Windows+X or Right Click on Windows to bring up the menu.
  • From the menu, click on Device Manager to open it.
  • In the Device Manager, Click on Bluetooth to expand the options.

  • In the list, check for the Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator and your Bluetooth Device.
  • Right-click on each of them and click on the update driver to start the process.

  • You will be asked to select a source for your driver file in the driver update wizard. Select the automatic download and install if you do not have any driver files on your PC.

If you are facing a Bluetooth issue with just a certain device you are using; you can also update its driver by following the same steps.  This will help you make the most of your Bluetooth device; however, the issue with this approach is quite visible in the screenshots.

There are multiple Bluetooth drivers associated with the integrated Bluetooth settings. As you can see, there’s a Bluetooth Device, then an Intel Bluetooth device, and then a Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator. The confusion among them can make the process typical and time-consuming as you will have to update all these manually.

3. Use Advanced Driver Updater to Download and Update Microsoft Bluetooth Driver

Advanced Driver Updater is a well-designed tool dedicated to finding and updating all the drivers that are outdated or missing in your device. It has a dedicated, reliable directory of drivers from where it fetches the latest files to support every device on your PC. The way it works is simple –
