ChatGPT Not Working on PC – Here’s What You Can Do!

ChatGPT has made its way into every advanced user’s life in one way or another. From simplifying complex codes and syntax to writing essential emails, users enjoy AI’s perks. However, recently many users have complained that ChatGPT is not working properly. The errors “Connection Timed Out,” “Server Busy,” etc. keep bothering the user, hampering their experience.

In this post, let us look at some of the reasons why the issue appears and the possible solutions you can imply.

Without further ado, let’s get started!

What Causes ChatGPT Not Working Properly Issues on PC?

ChatGPT is an online AI chatbot that generates responses based on your queries. It works on a data set, allowing it to analyze your request, find the best solution, and generate an answer. While it has proven its capabilities over and over again, there are multiple problems and errors that users come across while using the platform.

Some of the main errors are –

  1. ChatGPT is at Capacity – “We’re experiencing exceptionally high demand. Please hang tight as we work on scaling our systems” Error
  2. Connection Timed Out Error
  3. Server Busy Error
  4. Too Many Requests Error: 429
  5. Access Denied Error: 1020

Other than these basic errors, many users have often come across issues while logging in and errors with the body stream that they are using.

All these issues hinder a user’s experience, which is definitely not what you would expect from an AI tool. Some of these issues appear from the server’s end and are not the user’s fault. However, multiple issues appear and can be resolved from the user’s end.

Problems that we are talking about include –

  • Issues with network and internet.
  • Corrupt browsers and browsing data.
  • Too many requests in a short time.

If you are familiar with these issues or are facing one, do not worry; we have listed a few working fixes in the next section. Check them out!

4 Ways to Fix ChatGPT Not Working

Fix 1 – Try Using the Platform in Incognito

This fix is specific to catering to the “We’re experiencing exceptionally high demand. Please hang tight as we work on scaling our systems” error that may appear out of nowhere while trying to generate a response.

You see, ChatGPt is a popular tool. And many users are online when you are working with it, too. This is why the platform may be out of resources. However, if you can’t wait and need to access the platform, you must launch the incognito mode in the browser and enter your credentials there.  ( Can Anyone See What I Searched In Incognito Mode )

The error keeps repeating itself since you keep retrying on the opened tab. But that is not the case when you browse using the incognito mode. No prior history is loaded, and you are perceived as a new user.

Try it out!

Fix 2 – Check Your Network

If you encounter the Connection timed-out error, you should first open another tab to check if the internet is working. If it is not working, disconnect and reconnect. However, if it is working and only ChatGPT is not loading, you can try the following fixes –

  1. Make sure you are not using a VPN. If you are using, disconnect or change the server, which may be causing the error.
  2. Try switching your connection from WiFi to Ethernet LAN, as it is faster and more stable.
  3. If the issue persists, try using your Mobile Hotspot to connect to your PC and find out if things work.

These 2 ways combined can help you resolve connection issues and server errors while using ChatGPT.

Fix 3 – Remove Extensions From Your Browser

If you are experiencing browser issues after installing a particular extension, try removing it. For instance, if you are using Chrome,

Step 1 – Go to the quick access menu by clicking on the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the browser.

Step 2 – In the menu, spot the Extensions option and click on it.

Step 3 – You can find 2 options in the Extension drop-down menu. One allows you to Manage Extensions, while the other is a shortcut to downloading more extensions. Click on the first option to open settings.

Step 4 – You can find all the existing extensions on the Manage Page. Select and remove the one that you believe may be causing the error.

After removing the extension, restart the browser and try loading the ChatGPT again. Only this time, it should work properly.

Fix 4 – Clear Corrupt Cookies, Cache, & Browsing Data (Advanced)

You should try this if you have got no results from the above 3 fixes. Remember that all your browsing data will be lost, so if you have any bookmarks to save, do it firsthand.

Clearing cookies and caches allows you to refresh all the browsing data, removing any corrupt data in the browser. Every browser has a dedicated option that allows you to remove the data.

You can instantly find the option in the Settings menu of any browser. However, do you know that clearing data from the browser is not that easy? There are so many files and data shreds that require wiping to ensure that it is completely removed.

To help you finish the data-clearing process smoothly, we recommend you use Advanced System Optimizer. Its dedicated cleaner allows you to instantly wipe corrupt cache, cookies, and browsing data, making the browser fresh and ready to use!

Here’s how it works –

Step 1 – Download the application from the link below.

Step 2 – Open the application, and you will find Security & Privacy options in the left panel.

Step 3 – In the opened options, find Privacy Protector.
Step 4 – Once you have opened the privacy protector, click on Start Scan so that it can fetch all the data that is required to be removed.

Step 5 – After the scan is over, you have the option to clean all the data. Click on Clean and let the process end.

Give it some time, and when you start your PC again, you will realize that you no longer face issues in browsing ChatGPT.

Other than these fixes, ensure you are using the latest version of the browser, as sometimes it can be an issue related to an outdated browser. Also, if you face issues, you can use the reset to the factory settings option in the browser settings to completely refresh your browser.

Try all these fixes, and let us know if you can resolve the issues completely. If you have any doubts about following the steps, please connect with us via our social media or the comments section below.
